Top 3 Toe Shoe Brands
Toe shoes are one of the most important parts of a rhythmic gymnasts gear. Keep in mind that no matter which pair you buy, a year of gymnastics requires at least 12 pairs of toe shoes. Different toe shoes are made with different material, with different levels of durability, longevity, and slickness. Lets dive into 5 different brands and explore their characteristics!
Sasaki

Ok, I will admit, I am a little biased because I have used Sasaki for a majority of my RG career, but I do believe they are the best brand.
Sasaki is made of artificial leather with a suede-like texture. They are very soft and will change to fit the shape of your feet. Sasaki is allegedly narrower than other brands, however from my experience I would say they fit wide feet pretty well (I have wide feet). Sasaki is pretty good for turning, they aren't as slippery as some other brands so you get more friction when your moving around.
A downside to Sasaki is that they wear out easily. When I got to the competitive level of gymnastics, a pair of Sasaki toe shoes lasts around 2 weeks with black tape, and it gets holes within 4-5 days of use. When I was a younger gymnast though they lasted around 3 weeks without tape. They cost about 34 USD a pair.
Jassy

Jassy is another popular brand, it is made with micro-suede, and it feels kind of rough compared to Sasaki. Jassy feels thinner compared to other brands, however they are pretty durable. A pair for me lasted 3-4 weeks with tape when I was in competitive gymnastics. A lot of people prefer Jassy probably due to its smooth texture on the bottom making it more slick for turns. Jassy also changes to fit the shape of your feet. Most people say people with wider feet use Jassy, so its best to keep that in mind when deciding. They cost about 38 USD a pair.
Dvillena

Made with various cotton and elastic textiles, the Dvillena toe shoe is said to be excellent for turning. They also do not adhere to the carpet which can be good or bad, because you'll have really good turns though you might slip. Dvillena toe shoes can last 2-3 weeks and they are more fit for narrow and small feet. They cost about 19 USD.
Now having just toe shoes is not enough, you should also get black tape to be able to repair holes in your shoes so they last longer.
I use this black tape; it costs about 10 dollars for 3 rolls.

Wax is also helpful to own if you want your toe shoes to be more slippery for better turns. Regular candle wax works. You can rub some on the carpet, then rub your foot over the wax. Be careful not to put to much or you will slip and fall! I hope this was helpful! Good luck on your athletic endeavors. <3
